Needham Piano Studio goes to Carnegie Hall

As winners of the Russian Music Festival and Competition, students of the Needham Piano Studio performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City earlier this month, according to a press release.

James, 10, and Grace, 13, Lee of Ashland won first place in the 7th annual competition held in New Jersey by the Talented Young Musicians Association. Their sister Elizabeth Lee, 14, won second place among about 150 students.

James played “Minuet “ by V. Kalinnikov, and Grace played “Three Fantastic Dances” by D. Shostakovich.

All three pianists are students of Rita Mikulinsky, who owns the Needham Piano Studio.
